We do this by being a body that:
Loves God: We were created to be in daily, intimate communion with our heavenly Father! Though there will most certainly be pitfalls in our lives and Christian walks, our hearts and actions will never stop honoring God! We love Him because He first loved us, and we aim to communicate that love to not only the lost and the found, but to the wounded as well.
Hears God: We don’t believe that God suddenly disappeared after the canonization of the Bible! Nope! He is alive, well, and still very much active! A main focus, here at OFC, is to continually seek the presence and voice of God. We help teach new and established believers ways to enter in to the presence of God.
Equips the believer: Jesus tells us in Mark 16: 15-18, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Do you know what that means!?!?! We get to actually DO THINGS! Oglethorpe Fellowship is a place where you can learn how to operate in the spiritual gifts, how to cast out demons, and how to pray for the sick with expectation of God’s goodness to manifest in healing! We are not only a community to build friendships, but to become equipped to do what Jesus did!
Builds Community: We seek to create an environment where like minded believers can gather together to encourage and build each other up in the faith! Even God had his own community in the Trinity, and we were created in his image. There is something about being around others striving after God that helps keep you on track. Iron sharpens iron, and we were created to do life together! That’s why we have several venues to begin building those relationships that we so deeply need. We have weekly Wednesday night supper, men’s and women’s groups, youth group, monthly covered dish, family nights, worship nights, and many more social activities.
